OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR - May 15, 2017
ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend UC San Diego’s 7th Annual Powwow on Friday, May 19, and Saturday, May 20, at Marshall Field. The Powwow begins at noon and runs till 4 p.m. Hosted and coordinated by the Native American Student Alliance, this two-day celebration honors the culture, traditions, and history of Native American people through dance, arts and crafts, and food. It is free and open to the public. In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend the Powwow. Supervisors, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care. On behalf of the campus community, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the members of the Powwow Planning Committee for their work on this celebration. Please join us in honoring the legacy and contributions of our Native American communities. For more information, visit: http://powwow.ucsd.edu.
