OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR - May 25, 2017
The UC San Diego World AIDS Day Planning Committee is actively recruiting new members. The Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of World AIDS Day activities at UC San Diego. World AIDS Day was established by the United Nations in 1988, and is honored on December 1 of each year. For over two decades, the committee at UC San Diego has brought awareness to the campus regarding the impacts of HIV/AIDS locally, nationally and globally. Criteria for committee members include sensitivity to issues of HIV/AIDS, health, human rights and diversity, and demonstrated support of the UC San Diego Principles of Community. The commitment includes one-hour weekly meetings throughout the fall of each year, as well as 1-2 hours each week outside of meeting, and multiple commitments the week of the event. Interested faculty, staff and students should apply at http://worldaidsday.ucsd.edu/ by Thursday, June 1, 2017. If you have any questions, please contact the chair of the World AIDS Day planning committee, Shaun Travers at stravers@ucsd.edu.
