Postdoctoral Scholar Dependent Care Professional Travel Grant Program

The Office of Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholar Affairs is pleased to announce the extension of the Postdoctoral Scholar Dependent Care Professional Travel Grant Program for academic year 2017-18, and the call for applications.

The program provides support, up to $1,000, for dependent care related expenses incurred during an official business trip for professional development.

For the 2017-18 academic year, the program will have three award periods:
1. Travel between 7/1/17-10/31/17; applications due in June, 2017
2. Travel between 11/1/17-2/28/2018; applications due in October, 2017
3. Travel between 3/1/18-6/30/18; applications due in February, 2018

Applications for the first award period is now open.

We would like to thank the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women and the Postdoctoral Association for encouragement and financial support of last year’s pilot program. Balancing family and career is challenging for postdocs and we hope that this program will help remove one of the barriers to professional development and career advancement.
