OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE VICE CHANCELLOR - ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

June 6, 2017

ALL ACADEMICS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    2017-2018 UC Salary Program

President Napolitano has approved a general salary increase of 1.5% to the salary scales for non-represented academic personnel effective July 1, 2017. The increase will also be applied to eligible above scale salaries and off-scale salary components that are not due for tapering. The ladder rank professorial scales, and those scales that derive from the ladder rank scales, include a modest smoothing to provide more consistent percentages between steps. The new salary rates will be reflected on the August 1, 2017 paycheck.

Salary scales for represented academic personnel are set by the terms of their collective bargaining contract. Below are approved contractual increases:

The salary scales for Unit 18 Non-Senate Instructional titles will be increased by 2.5% effective July 1, 2017.

The salary scales for Librarian titles will be increased by 1.5% effective July 1, 2017.

The salary scale for Resident Physicians (UC San Diego House Staff) will be adjusted by 2.9% effective July 1, 2017.

The salary scales for student titles in the Academic Student Employees (ASE) bargaining unit will be increased by 3% effective October 1, 2017.
