Appointment of University Registrar, Cindy Lyons

It is with pleasure that we announce the appointment of Cindy Lyons as University Registrar. Since July 2016, Ms. Lyons has served admirably as Interim University Registrar where she seamlessly continued mission-critical services to the campus and maintained essential progress on technological enhancements for student record keeping.

Ms. Lyons began her career at UC San Diego in the Summer Session Office in 1996 and moved to the Office the Registrar in 2003 where she has served in the positions of Assistant Registrar, Associate Registrar, and Senior Associate Registrar. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

In her career with the Office the Registrar, Ms. Lyons has been responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of services to over 35,000 students, including issuance of over 55,000 transcripts and enrollment verifications annually, scheduling over 21,000 courses yearly, and the certification of more than 9,000 degrees each year. She has actively engaged in decision-making and long-range strategic planning in the functional areas of enrollment services, academic records, degree audit, and scheduling. Ms. Lyons also directed and conducted the analysis and implementation of special projects and modifications that include the Co-Curricular Record, Enhanced Electronic Transcripts, and Web Registration upgrade.

As University Registrar, Cindy will continue leading these efforts and will be responsible for supporting the instructional mission of the University by providing core services to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The University Registrar reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management in the Division of Student Affairs.
