ALL ACADEMICS and STAFF AT UC SAN DIEGO (including UC San Diego Health)

SUBJECT:    Time to Choose: Open Enrollment is Now

You now have an opportunity to select or change your health care provider during Open Enrollment, which runs through November 20. This is a big choice that determines who you see for everyday health needs or perhaps specialists for more serious needs. As you review plans, look deeply into what different health plans offer based on your age, overall health and the needs of your family.

And consider UC San Diego Health, one of the top-ranked medical providers in the United States — consistently ranked among the nation’s best by several organizations.

UC San Diego Health cares for its community, and that includes you. Good health for you and your family begins with good primary care, pediatrics and women’s health. With this in mind, UC San Diego Health has dramatically expanded its network of primary care, urgent care and express care locations throughout San Diego to make health care easier and quicker to access. UC San Diego Health physicians and staff care for everyday hurts like sprains, cuts and burns as well as complex, chronic conditions like high blood pressure, asthma or diabetes. Its primary care expertise includes pediatric, women, internal, family medicine and senior care.

Unique among local health care providers, UC San Diego Health is a nationally recognized academic medical center. These special health systems offer teams of world-class experts who have access to medical and surgical resources not offered anywhere else. Many of the doctors at UC San Diego Health are also researchers in the School of Medicine and Moores Cancer Center, where they are developing the newest diagnostic criteria, therapies and treatments for the most challenging patient conditions.

UC San Diego Health offers multiple scheduling alternatives. The newest option is the MyUCSDHealth mobile application, now available on Apple and Android devices. It includes a time-saving feature called “Save My Spot,” which allows patients to remotely hold their spot in advance for same-day walk-in visits for Express and Urgent Care. When arriving for an appointment, your space in line is saved and you are typically seen within minutes.

UC San Diego Health includes UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest and Jacobs Medical Center, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, Moores Cancer Center, Shiley Eye Institute, Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion and Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute, all in La Jolla. Clinics are offered throughout the region in local neighborhoods.
