SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Pharmacy Lane

Project Description/Location:

Ongoing construction of the Satellite Utilities Plant in the Health Sciences West neighborhood will require the removal of an existing outdoor generator located along the west side of Pharmacy Lane. This will impact traffic on Pharmacy Lane on Saturday March 24, 2018, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The work will include setting up a crane and truck to remove the existing generator.

The new Satellite Utilities Plant, located in the existing parking lot P604 next to Central Research Services Facility, will provide approximately 7,000 new gross square feet to house emergency power generators and switchgear. The facility will provide emergency power to the Skaggs Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, Biomedical Research Facility II, and Central Research Services Facility after completion, to ensure more reliable power service to these facilities. As such the existing outdoor generator is no longer necessary and can be removed.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:

Pharmacy Lane will be closed to all traffic. Detour signs and flag persons will direct traffic to an alternate route. The bicycle lanes and pedestrian sidewalks will also be affected by this closure. Please follow signage and allow extra time while traveling around the Pharmacy Lane area.
