SUBJECT:    Call for Nominations and Moderators - 31st Annual Undergraduate Research Conference

We invite your nomination of outstanding undergraduate students to participate in the 31st Annual Undergraduate Research Conference, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Ida and Cecil Green Faculty Club. The deadline to nominate is April 4, 2018.

The conference provides undergraduates with the opportunity to present research papers, experiments or other projects at small informal roundtable sessions, moderated by a member of the faculty. The 150 to 200 students who have participated in the conference in recent years have found it to be a challenging and richly rewarding experience.

The Undergraduate Research Conference supports the scholarly and creative aspirations of UC San Diego undergraduates, and provides increased opportunities for their intellectual recognition and encouragement. The conference is UC San Diego's signature campus-wide recognition opportunity for undergraduate research. In order to participate, students must be nominated by a UC San Diego faculty member. Student presenters attending will have the opportunity to engage with faculty, and will receive a certificate recognizing their scholarly achievements. A catered breakfast and buffet lunch will be provided.

To nominate up to three outstanding students to participate in the 31st Annual Undergraduate Research Conference,

(1) Complete the online form at: http://www.cvent.com/d/1tqtbd/4W

(2) Inform the student of the nomination.

In addition, we hope you will consider serving as a roundtable moderator at the event. You do not need to have a student in the conference to serve as moderator. If you would like to volunteer, please complete the form at the following link by April 19, 2018:

Your nomination of undergraduate presenters and/or participation in this event provide vital support to the prestige of undergraduate research at UC San Diego. We appreciate your support of this valuable program.

If you have any questions regarding the research conference, please contact Dr. David Artis, Dean of Undergraduate Research Advancement at X24161 (dartis@ucsd.edu) or URC Coordinator Jessica Davis at X45791 (jjd010@ucsd.edu).
