CAMPUS NOTICE

OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR –
ARCHITECTURE, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

April 18, 2018

ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Updated Information on Campus Phone Outage: 9:00pm April 20 to 1:00am April 21

Earlier this week we issued the below notice regarding a phone system outage this Friday night. Please note the following clarifications:

* During the upgrade, 911 mobile phone calls originating on campus will still be answered by the campus police dispatch center.

* During the upgrade, calls from non-campus phones to the main police administrative number (858-534-HELP) will still be answered by the campus police dispatch center.

The information in the original notice (below for reference) is still valid.

Original Notice:

IT Services has scheduled a software upgrade to the campus’s telephone system. The campus telephone system’s numbers are those that start with 858-534, 858-822 and 858-246. Other phone numbers are supported by a different telephone system and will not be affected.

During the upgrade campus telephone services will be unavailable this Friday night from 9:00PM on Friday, April 20 until 1:00AM Saturday, April 21.

While all changes are compatible with existing telephone equipment, we anticipate that in some cases you may need to reset one or all of the following three phone features:

1. Accept 2nd Call
2. Follow Me
3. External Call Forward

Instructions for doing so are on BLINK:

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the Service Desk at servicedesk@ucsd.edu or at (858) 246-4357.
