Appointment of Nancy Resnick as the Campus Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Following a comprehensive nationwide search, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Nancy Resnick as the Campus Chief Human Resources Officer effective August 1, 2018. Ms. Resnick will be a member of the Vice Chancellor & Chief Financial Officer’s senior management team as well as the Chancellor’s Cabinet.

Ms. Resnick has over thirty years of progressive leadership, management and legal experience. She has served as the Chief Human Resources Officer and Associate Vice President for the University of Oregon for the past three years where her primary focus has been to intentionally change the culture of a newly defined Human Resources organization from a transactional to a strategic organization to support the mission and vision of the institution.

Prior to coming to the University of Oregon, Ms. Resnick served as the Associate Director of Human Resources at the California State University, Humboldt State University for over six years where she established a strong track record of working to further the institution’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Ms. Resnick also has practiced employment law in the private and public sector. As Senior Counsel for AAA in San Francisco for nearly nine years, she headed a team of employment attorneys and paralegals responsible for employment law issues for the Human Resources organization and the enterprise, and was the primary in-house employment attorney supporting the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. She previously served as Senior Counsel of Employment Law and Litigation at American Protective Services as well as managed labor and employment functions. She was a trial attorney for the US Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor and practiced employment law in several firms in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ms. Resnick received her undergraduate degree from UC Santa Barbara and her Juris Doctorate from UC Hastings College of Law. She is a member of several professional organizations including Association of American Universities (AAU) Human Resource Institute, National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), and Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
