CAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT January 29, 2019
Project Description / Location: This project will relocate domestic water piping, electrical and telecommunications duct bank, and repair disturbed hardscape and landscape within project limits. The relocated utilities will be installed along the south side of the Structural and Materials Engineering (SME) Building and along Lyman Lane south of Voigt Drive. The project will also install chilled and high temperature water pipelines, impacting Lyman Lane, Voigt Drive, Matthews Lane, and parking lot P508. Construction will be phased, beginning mid-February 2019 and lasting roughly 1 year. Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts: The sidewalk along the south side of the Structural and Materials Engineering (SME) Building will be closed indefinitely beginning mid-February 2019. Pedestrians and bicycles will be routed to Voigt Drive and Matthews Lane. Lyman Lane (east of SME) will eventually be narrowed due to utility construction and sidewalk improvements, which will result in intermittent vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian impacts. Flagmen will be provided for safety reasons as needed. Drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to use caution, observe signage, and cooperate with traffic control personnel. Please see the attached map for routing.
