CAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT November 26, 2019
Project Location/Description: The Mid-Coast Light Rail Transit Project continues with concrete finishing to the elevated Light Rail Trolley track. On December 3 through 13, crews will work on the concrete surfaces of the overhead track and vertical columns located at the Voigt Drive and Campus Point Drive intersection, between the hours of 9:00pm and 5:00am each night. Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts: During construction hours, Voigt Drive will close between Campus Point Drive and the P703 Parking lot entrance. Vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians will be detoured around the construction area using Campus Point Drive, Medical Center Drive, and Health Sciences Drive. In addition to the full closures on Voigt Drive, there will be partial lane impacts on Campus Point Drive. However, Campus Point Drive will remain accessible at all times to vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic. In an effort to provide advanced notice to frequent travelers of the area, large electrical messaging boards will be placed near the intersection of Voigt Drive and Campus Point Drive one week in advance of the work, confirming the dates and times of the closures. The construction schedule has been carefully sequenced during evening hours to minimize confusion and alleviate traffic congestion during peak travel times.
