CONSTRUCTION ALERT – La Jolla Village Drive Closed at Genesee Feb. 8-15

Project Description/Location:

As part of construction of the UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley/Mid-Coast
LRT project, crews will close La Jolla Village Drive at Genesee Avenue
for girder placement. Widespread traffic impacts are expected between
Friday, Feb. 8 at 9 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 15 at 5 a.m.

Action You Should Take:

Travelers are encouraged to limit peak period travel and use public
transit whenever possible. Telecommuting and carpooling are also
encouraged.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane and Pedestrian Impacts:

The intersection at Genesee Avenue and La Jolla Village Drive will be
fully closed in all directions during the weekend and nights (from 9
p.m. to 5 a.m.) within that timeframe. During these periods, there will
be one right-hand turning movement available from Westbound La Jolla
Village Drive to Northbound Genesee Ave.

During the weekdays (from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.), there will be one lane
available in each direction on Genesee Avenue, but through access along
La Jolla Village Drive will be completely blocked off for the week.
Additionally, right-hand turning movements will be available in all
directions during these timeframes.

· Genesee Avenue & La Jolla Village Drive (#13171)

· La Jolla Village Drive & Genesee Avenue (#11923)

· Genesee Avenue & Esplanade (#11921)

· Executive Drive & Regents Park Row (#99460)

· The bus stop on Executive Drive & Regents Park Row (#99459)
will remain open but could be closed if traffic becomes too heavy on
Genesee Avenue. In case of closure, road supervisor will place postings
at bus stop.

Alternate boarding locations:

Route 30: Southbound Route 30 passengers are advised to board at UTC
Transit Center or at La Jolla Village Drive at Regents. Northbound Route
30 passengers are advised to board at the temporary bus stop marked by
an a-frame on Regents Road at La Jolla Village Drive.

Route 41: Southbound Route 41 passengers are advised to board at the
temporary bus stop marked by an a-frame on Regents Road at La Jolla
Village Drive or at Nobel Drive at Genesee Avenue. Northbound Route 41
passengers are advised to board at the temporary bus stop marked by an
a-frame on Nobel Drive at Genesee Avenue.

Route 150: Southbound Route 150 passengers are advised to board at UTC
Transit Center or at La Jolla Village Drive at Regents Road. Northbound
Route 150 passengers are advised to board at the temporary bus stop
marked by an a-frame on Regents Road at La Jolla Village Drive.
Southbound Route 150 passengers are advised to board at UTC Transit
Center or at La Jolla Village Drive.

Routes 201/202: Route 201 passengers are advised to board at the
temporary stop marked by an a-frame on Regents Road at Executive Drive
(if stop is closed). Route 202 passengers are advised to board at the
temporary stop marked by an a-frame on Executive Drive at Regents Road.
