UPDATED SCHEDULE: CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Utilities Projects: Voigt Drive & Hopkins Drive Intersection; Voigt Drive & Engineer Lane intersection; and Engineer Lane

Project Description/Location:

Utility work will take place Monday, February 11 through Thursday,
February 28, 2019 from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, in preparation for the future
construction of the Voigt Hydronic Utilities project. This upgrade will
require the digging of holes in the pavement to confirm the location of
underground utilities at various locations on Voigt Drive between
Hopkins Drive and Engineer Lane.

The Voigt Hydronic Loop project consists of wet and dry pipe utility and
vault installation along Voigt Drive between Hopkins Drive and Engineer
Lane and will provide critical chilled water, reclaim water and data/telecom
conduits for critical campus infrastructure. The upgrade shall require the
installation of underground chilled water, data/telecom conduits,
reclaim water and associated pull boxes/vaults as required for service
along Voigt Drive from Hopkins Drive to Engineer Lane.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian impacts:

During construction, there will be traffic delays on Voigt Drive between
Hopkins Drive and Engineer Lane, and on Engineer Lane near lot P503.
Please expect intermittent closures to the east or west bound lanes
throughout the day. Signage will be posted and Flaggers present in the
impacted area to divert vehicular and bicycle traffic during any
closures. Signage will be provided, showing pedestrians where to cross
when work occurs on east or west sides of the street. All traffic
should proceed with caution and allow additional time for travel in the
area.
