ALL ACADEMICS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Commencement 2019 Registration Is Open

Faculty registration is now open for All Campus Commencement (June 15,
2019), as well as the commencement ceremonies for the undergraduate
colleges, Graduate Division, Rady School of Management, and School of
Global Policy and Strategy (June 15–16, 2019).

Commencement marks one of the most important moments in a student’s
academic career—culminating years of hard work with a UC San Diego
degree. As faculty members and campus leaders, your participation is a
key element in the pomp and circumstance of All Campus Commencement and
the related college, Graduate Division, and professional school
celebrations. The students and their families deeply appreciate your
presence as a symbol of the faculty’s central role in the university. We
encourage you to participate in as many ceremonies as possible.

Former secretary of state Madelene Albright will deliver the keynote
address at All Campus Commencement on June 15. An icon of American
diplomacy, Albright shattered the glass ceiling when she was named the
nation’s first woman secretary of state. We look forward to having
former secretary of state Albright share her insight as a strong leader
and dedicated public servant, inspiring the Class of 2019 to create
positive change.

Faculty registration is open from Wednesday, March 6, 2019, through
Wednesday, May 22, 2019. However, to receive alma mater and
degree-specific regalia rentals, you must register by May 8, 2019.
