ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Hopkins, Voigt & Scholars Drive Closures: April 27, 2019

The 37th annual Sun God Festival will be held from 12 PM to 6 PM on
Saturday, April 27. Due to the construction of event infrastructure,
Hopkins Drive will close from 6 AM through 9 PM on April 27. Hopkins
Drive will also close in that period to all traffic between Scholars
Drive North and Voigt Drive.

Additionally, as part of health and safety initiatives related to the
Festival, Scholars Drive North will close to all traffic between Pangaea
Drive and North Point Drive from 6 AM through 9 PM on Saturday, April
27.

UC San Diego community members planning to be on campus Saturday, but
not attending the event, may want to avoid the northwest area, as road
access and parking will be impacted.

Please note these additional impacts to parking and transportation to
allow for the set-up and teardown of the Sun God Festival:

-Voigt Drive will be closed to west-bound traffic between Engineers Lane
and Hopkins Drive from 6 AM to 9 PM on Saturday, April 27. Parking will
be prohibited in this section of Voigt Drive during those times.

-Access to Hopkins Parking Structure, Marshall Lower Apartments Lot
(P308) and Library Loop on Hopkins Drive (P309) will not be available
from Voigt Drive 6 AM through 9 PM on Saturday, April 27. Inbound
traffic to those areas will be limited to event-related vehicles. Please
note that outbound traffic from Hopkins Parking Structure is subject to
delays.

-Spanos Loop on Northpoint Lane (P359) and the Rady Parking Lot (P357)
will be closed from 8 PM on Friday, April 26 through 10 PM on Saturday,
April 27. Parking in the Rady Parking Lot (P357) will be impacted
throughout the day on Friday, April 26.

We urge all festival attendees to use an alternative transportation
option to get to and from the event on Saturday, April 27. The San Diego
Metropolitan Transit System will provide bus service to the campus
Saturday, April 27 and AS Safe Rides will offer a limited number of
vouchers for festival attendees. To learn more about transportation
