ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO – Including UC San Diego Health

SUBJECT:    Call for Nominations for Chancellor’s Medal and Revelle Medal

As part of UC San Diego’s annual recognition of our founding, we will
award the Chancellor’s Medal and the Revelle Medal in conjunction with
our November 14 – 16, 2019, celebration of Founders Day. I encourage
your nomination of visionary leaders whose impact on UC San Diego has
resulted in the institution’s rise to international prominence.

The Chancellor’s Medal is one of the highest honors given by UC San
Diego for exceptional service in support of the university’s mission.
Nominees must have a connection with the university; however, current
employees are not eligible for the medal. Please visit the Chancellor’s
Medal website at:

http://chancellor.ucsd.edu/about-the-office/the-chancellors-medal for
information about nominations and previous recipients.

The Revelle Medal recognizes retired or emeriti visionary faculty
leaders for sustained and distinguished service to the campus. The medal
honors a record of accomplishment that advances UC San Diego to fulfill
our mission of teaching, research, service and patient care. The Revelle
Medal website at:
http://chancellor.ucsd.edu/about-the-office/the-revelle-medal provides
additional information about nominations and previous recipients.

Nominators for the Chancellor’s Medal and the Revelle Medal must have an
association with UC San Diego. Further guidelines and the nomination
forms are found on the medal websites. The deadline for nominations is
close of business on Monday, May 13, 2019. Nominations received after
May 13 will be considered the following year.
