13th Annual Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Celebration

We invite you to join your UC San Diego faculty, staff, and student
colleagues as we celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander culture,
traditions and history. The month-long commemoration honors Asian and
Pacific Islander American identity through performance and visual arts,
film and literature. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to
participate in this important observance of diversity. This year’s
theme is, “Many Voices One Movement.”

In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave
with pay have been approved so that employees may participate in the
13th Annual Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Celebration
activities. Supervisors are asked to allow employees to attend, as long
as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job
duties or patient care.

We thank the members of the planning committee for their work in
coordinating these educational and celebratory campus activities. Please
join us and our campus community in honoring the legacy and
contributions of Asian Pacific Islander Americans.
