ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Commencement - Road and Parking Impacts Friday, June 14 - Sunday, June 16, 2019

UC San Diego will host eleven Commencement ceremonies this weekend, including the All Campus Commencement from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15. Hopkins Drive will be closed from Friday, June 14, at 8:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 16, at 10 p.m. due the Commencement 2019 ceremonies and move-out activities.

Other traffic flow changes in place all day Saturday and Sunday:

-North Point Drive: Ride-share drop-off/pick-up only
-Pangea Drive: Marshall College, Roosevelt College, and Village move-out pass only
-Muir College Drive: Closed to inbound traffic
-Voigt Drive: Warren College, Sixth College, or Marshall College move-out pass; event parking pass specific to Hopkins; and ADA or those with accessibility needs
-Scholars Drive North from Pangea Drive to North Point Drive: Northbound traffic only
-Scholars Drive North from Pangea Drive to Muir College Drive: Southbound traffic only

Please note these impacts to parking lots closed from Friday, June 14, at 6:00 p.m. through Monday, June 17, at 6:00 a.m.:

-Parking Lot P357
-Parking Lot P359
-Hopkins Parking Structure: restricted access
-Parking Lot P309
-Voigt Drive: between Engineer Lane and Hopkins Lane
-Torrey Pines Scenic Drive: no street parking

During this very busy weekend of June 15–16, access routes onto campus, parking lots, and structures may be intermittently closed due to traffic or event control. Vehicles parked in the areas listed will be allowed to leave; attendants will direct drivers to specific exits and re-entry may be denied.

Road and parking lot closures are subject to change.

UC San Diego community members planning to be on campus Saturday or Sunday, but not attending the ceremonies, are advised to enter campus from Gilman Drive or Villa La Jolla Drive for the least restricted access.

If you are attending a ceremony, plan to arrive one to two hours prior to the start of your ceremony to allow ample time to park and walk or shuttle, where offered, to RIMAC Field or RIMAC Arena. Keep in mind that traffic will be heavy leaving campus after the ceremonies as well. Allow for one to two hours to depart from campus. Please follow all event signage and directions of traffic management staff for access to the best available parking or drop-off locations.

We urge all commencement attendees to carpool, ride-share, or use public transportation. Parking will be extremely limited. To learn more about transportation options available on the day of the All Campus Commencement, please visit:

We appreciate your cooperation and support during this exciting event. If you have questions about parking or transportation, contact TellTPS@ucsd.edu.
