SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Voigt Utility Roadwork: Voigt Drive;Engineer Lane; Intersections of Voigt and Hopkins Drives and Voigt Drive and Engineer Lane

Project Description/Location:

The Voigt Utility Project will begin the first week of August with an
anticipated completion of May 2020. Construction will consist of
upgrades to underground pipes and vault installations located on Voigt
Drive, Engineer Lane, and the Intersections of Voigt and Hopkins Drives
and Voigt Drive and Engineer Lane. The project will provide critical
chilled water, reclaimed water and data/telecom conduits to meet the
growing campus infrastructure needs.

Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts:

Voigt Drive, Engineer Lane and Hopkins Drive will remain open throughout
construction. Vehicular, Pedestrian and Bicycle traffic should expect
occasional delays to the east or west bound lanes on Voigt Drive due to
construction traffic. Signage will be posted to address vehicular,
pedestrian and bicycle impacts. Flaggers will be present to direct
vehicles and bicycles as well as pedestrians crossing the street during
construction. Engineer Lane will be reduced to one-lane during
construction. All traffic should proceed with caution and allow
additional time for travel in the construction project area.

Access to Parking Lots P309 off Hopkins Drive, Lot P503 off Engineer
Lane and Lot P502 across the street from Atkinson Hall should expect
intermittent impacts. Parallel street parking on the North side of Voigt
between Hopkins Lane and Engineer Lane will be temporarily eliminated
during construction.
