CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Stein Clinical Research Building & IMG Emergency Power Replacement: Pedestrian Walkway Closure

Project Location/Description:

The Stein Clinical Research & IMG Emergency Power Replacement project will take place Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 6:30AM to 4:00PM, to include set-up of equipment and crane work at Stein Clinical Research & IMG buildings area. The project will remove the existing aging generators at Stein Clinical Research Building and IMG Complex and provide emergency power to the facilities from the recently constructed Satellite Utility Plant (SUP). Additional emergency power capacity will be provided to the facilities and will improve its reliability. The project will also install underground medium voltage electrical duct bank from SUP to Stein and IMG complex.

Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts:

There will be no street impacts to vehicular or bicycle traffic or access to the parking lot. Pedestrian walkways in Stein Clinical Research and IMG buildings area will be closed between 6:30am-4:00pm during the set-up of the crane and equipment. Pedestrians will be detoured around the construction area. Please follow signage when traveling in School of Medicine area.
