SUBJECT:    Launch of the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) On-line Student Portal

I am pleased to announce the launch of a new Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) On-line Student Portal, effective immediately for use this Fall quarter. The portal enables students to accept accommodations and forward electronic Authorization for Accommodation (AFA) letters to faculty and OSD academic department liaisons. Electronic AFA letters will be sent on or after the first day of instruction each quarter, and should be considered valid only if generated from no-reply@osd.ucsd.edu. Electronically generated AFA letters do not require signatures.

Students may still elect to obtain paper copies of their AFA letters from the OSD. Regardless of whether the AFA is generated electronically or on paper, students are required to meet with their instructors to discuss specific arrangements for their accommodations. All students receiving AFA letters (electronic or paper) receive reminders each quarter. See http://osd.ucsd.edu/students/reminders.html for additional information.
