ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Academic Integrity Reaffirmation and Revised Policy on Integrity of Scholarship

Academic Integrity is a core principle of the University of California San Diego - it is essential to our excellence. UC San Diego continually advances efforts to promote and support a culture of integrity, with the goal of reinforcing quality teaching and learning. As a result, UC San Diego is considered a leader in the international arena and has been featured in a case study within the Chronicle of Higher Education: https://bit.ly/2maOqrb.

One new advancement this year is a restructuring of the Academic Integrity Office (AIO), which will enable the AIO staff to offer more preventative and retrospective education opportunities to the campus community and enhance the process for resolving integrity violations. Please visit http://academicintegrity.ucsd.edu/about/staff/index.html to learn more about the AIO team and the services offered.

In addition, revisions to the Policy on Integrity of Scholarship have been implemented this fall quarter, to streamline the resolution process for suspected academic integrity violations to better serve our students and instructors and allow for a more timely resolution of cases. For additional information regarding the new policy, visit: http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/Notices/2019/2019-5-30-1.html or http://academicintegrity.ucsd.edu/process/policy.html.

Members of the campus community are invited to attend one of several upcoming presentations to learn more about the policy changes. To register, visit: https://academicintegrityoffice.as.me/?appointmentType=11411484.

Please contact the Academic Integrity Office with any questions. You can reach the AIO in 301 University Center or aio@ucsd.edu or 858-822-2163.
