Open Enrollment Begins Today

Open Enrollment begins today and ends on Tuesday, November 24 at 5 p.m. This is your once-a-year opportunity to review benefit offerings at UC San Diego, determine which plans will be most beneficial for you and your family for 2021, and make the appropriate changes. Perhaps you're happy with your benefit selection and do not plan to make changes; if so, you should review your Benefits Summary page at UCPath Online for accuracy.
UCnet has information and tools to help you decide which plan is best for you. It also includes details about UC Care, a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) with a broad network of providers, and UC Blue & Gold, a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) with a custom network of providers created exclusively for the University of California.
To help you make informed decisions, we also offer the following:
  • Open Enrollment Webinars: UCPath Center will be hosting webinars. Click here to register for one of the live sessions. If you are unable to attend a webinar, please take a few minutes to watch this video on how to enroll.
  • Virtual Benefits Fair: This year, you will have access to UC presentations, vendor booths, and much more. The Virtual Benefits Fair is available 24/7 through November 24.
  • Open Enrollment Office Hours: If you have additional questions about your health plan after attending an Open Enrollment presentation, log into one of the virtual Office Hours sessions to have your questions answered. Click here for the schedule.
  • Frequently Asked Questions and More: For more information, including FAQS, visit the Open Enrollment page on Blink.
We know that our employees have choices about where to receive their health care. Now more than ever, staying healthy is key — and good health begins with convenient primary care. That’s why we’ve expanded our network of primary care locations to the neighborhoods where you live and work. You and your family can access our nationally ranked, high-quality care when and where you need it most. For more information on UC San Diego Health primary care services and physicians, please visit Get Better Care Now.
Open Enrollment is also the time for you to enroll or re-enroll in a Flexible Spending Account if you want to continue your Health FSA (for healthcare expenses for you and your family members) or Dependent Care FSA (for childcare or eldercare expenses) in 2021. Remember, your current FSA will not roll over into 2021.
This year, all changes to benefits must be made on the UCPath online self-service portal and will take effect on January 1, 2021. We encourage you to learn more by visiting the UC website, UCnet: ucal.us/oe.
