Paid Administrative Leave Period Extended & Flu Vaccine Mandate
Paid Administrative Leave Period Extension
The Office of the President issued an executive order extending the time within which employees can use the one-time allotment of 128 hours of UC Paid Administrative Leave to June 30, 2021.
In July, the Chancellor authorized a one-time allotment of up to 80 hours of leave for UC San Diego campus and health sciences employees who are seeking testing for COVID-19 based on a medical professional’s written recommendation or who are complying with State or County self-isolation requirements if the following conditions apply: (a) the employee has tested positive for COVID-19 and (b) the employee cannot work remotely because the employee has COVID-19. The Chancellor’s Supplemental Leave was due to expire December 31, 2020.
Today, through this campus notice, the Chancellor is authorizing an extension of the time within which employees can use the one-time grant of 80 hours of the Chancellor's Supplemental Leave to June 30, 2021. Please note: the Chancellor’s Supplemental Leave is specific to campus and health sciences employees.
Enforcement of the UC Flu Vaccine Mandate commenced on November 16, 2020. Students, faculty and staff will need to attest they have received the flu vaccine or have received an approved medical exemption or disability or religious accommodation before coming to campus or any other physical UC San Diego worksite for any purpose or duration.
Campus employees: Visit the Campus Flu Vaccination page for more information. Submit your flu vaccine attestation (that is, self-reporting that you have received a vaccine, an exemption or accommodation) through the Work & Health Management form.
