Animal Care Program (ACP) Per Diem Rate Changes
In July, 2019, we announced an updated per diem rate schedule that incorporates the rising costs of salaries, benefits, and supplies.
In consultation with the Animal Program Oversight Committee (APOC), previously planned rate increases for FY 21 have been adjusted, with implementation delayed until February 1, 2021. Effective February 1, 2021, all animal research proposal submissions must use the new per diem schedule. Currently funded projects will also be charged in accordance with the new rate structure effective February 1, 2021. Rate adjustments will be re-evaluated annually, with new rates effective on July 1 each subsequent year. Annual rate increases of a minimum of 3% should be taken into account for grant-planning purposes and budgeted accordingly. This new rate schedule can be found at the Per Diem Rates planning page.
