| SUBJECT: | Commencement 2020 Registration Is Open |
Faculty registration is now open for All Campus Commencement (June 13,
2020), as well as the commencement ceremonies for the undergraduate
colleges, Graduate Division, Rady School of Management, and School of
Global Policy and Strategy (June 13–14, 2020).
Commencement marks one of the most important moments in a student’s
academic career—culminating years of hard work with a UC San Diego
degree. As faculty members and campus leaders, your participation is a
key element in the pomp and circumstance of All Campus Commencement and
the related college, Graduate Division, and professional school
celebrations. The students and their families deeply appreciate your
presence as a symbol of the faculty’s central role in the university. We
encourage you to participate in as many ceremonies as possible.
This year, UC San Diego is honored to host Emmy–Award winning 60 Minutes
correspondent Bill Whitaker as the All Campus Commencement keynote
speaker. A celebrated journalist, Whitaker has a legacy of honest,
well-researched reporting that encourages open dialogue on the critical
issues of our day. Whitaker has covered three presidential campaigns;
interviewed compelling national figures, including First Lady Michelle
Obama; and served as a foreign correspondent in Asia, Africa, Europe,
Mexico, and the Middle East. We look forward to welcoming him to our
campus.
Faculty registration is open through Thursday, April 30, 2020. Note, if
you request late registration and do not have your own regalia, you will
receive UC San Diego regalia with hood.
