ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UCSD
SUBJECT: | CONSTRUCTION ALERT – North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood: Muir Lane and P206 Temporary Closure during Construction |
Project Description/Location:
Beginning Friday 4/17/20 at 7:00 AM and ending on Sunday 4/19/20 at 7:00
PM, P206 (Faculty Club Parking Lot) and a portion of Muir Lane, will be
closed for ongoing construction work at the North Torrey Pines Living
and Learning Neighborhood. During this time, the tower crane at building
#5 will be removed.
NTPLLN is a multi-use project that includes six new buildings, complete
with student housing, academic spaces, classrooms, lecture halls,
retail, dining, and underground parking. The neighborhood will include
open space with a bike and pedestrian friendly layout that will welcome
students, staff, faculty and visitors to live, learn and work in a
community environment. The project is located adjacent to North Torrey
Pines Road between Muir College Drive and Muir Lane.
Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts:
Muir Lane will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from the Pines
loading dock driveway to parking lot P206. This will restrict vehicular
access to Faculty Club, Peterson Hall, AP&M, and the AP&M Loading Dock.
Alternate parking is available at the Pangea Parking Structure, P302,
P303, and P416. Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crew
member instructions. Reduce speeds and exercise caution when travelling
near work crews.
The sidewalk along Muir Lane will be temporarily closed to maintain
pedestrian safety. A detour route and signage will be posted. Temporary
construction fencing will be installed around the assist crane on Muir
Lane.
P206 will be temporarily closed. All faculty, staff, and Faculty Club
patrons utilizing P206 are asked to remove their vehicles prior to
midnight (12:00 AM) on Thursday 4/16/20.
Access for emergency vehicles and FM service vehicles will be maintained
at all times.
