SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Lyman-Voigt-Matthews Utility Relocation

Project Description / Location:
The Lyman-Voigt-Matthews Utility Relocation project continues with the
installation of underground utilities along Voigt Drive and Lyman Lane.
The next segment of work which impacts roadways and sidewalks is
scheduled to begin on May 4, 2020 and continue through Summer 2020, with
work occurring between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:
The utility work will extend from the Matthews Lane and Voigt Drive
intersection to the Voigt Drive and Lyman Lane intersection (along the
North side of the SME Building). Upon reaching the Voigt Drive and
Lyman Lane intersection, work will continue south on Lyman Lane until
the work connects to the Design and Innovation Building work site. The
utility installations along Voigt Drive and Lyman Lane will result in
single lane closures during working hours. Flaggers will be on site to
maintain two-way traffic via one open lane. Please anticipate and plan
for minor delays on Voigt Drive and Lyman Lane during this time.
Pedestrians will be detoured to the northern sidewalk on Voigt Drive,
but access will be maintained at all times. Access to adjacent parking
lots and facilities will also be maintained at all times. Bicycles and
all forms of micro-mobility will be asked to share lanes with vehicles
during working hours. Please be aware of your surroundings, use caution
when in the area, and follow the direction of construction personal and
signage on site.
