Spring 2020 Space Information Review

In May 2019, the campus launched the Facilities Information Management
(FIM) system for space management to promote efficient allocation and
utilization of campus space, including administrative, teaching, and
research space. Accurate information supports building planning,
maintenance, and operations, enhances emergency response, and will
support post-covid-19 space planning.

Campus Planning has simplified and reduced Spring 2020 reporting
requirements to align with remote working, ongoing Covid-19 events, and
campus Financial and Human Resources Enterprise System Renewal (ESR)
deployments
Most of the actions are easily completed remotely using the Facilities
Information Management (FIM) portal. Required actions focus on obtaining
accurate corrections for floor plans and open office (cubicle furniture
and benching, and for linking space department and payroll department to
facilitate assigning employees to spaces.

(1) Required by June 30, 2020 – preparation for Fall 2020 Space Review
a. Basic floor plans and identifiers*
b. Open/Modular locations on floor plans and identifiers*
c. Space and Payroll department correlation.

(2) Recommended – Update space classifications, department allocations,
cluster allocations.

*To the best of your ability, given constraints arising from limited
on-site access and remote working.
