The UC San Diego Chancellor's Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) is actively seeking new members. As faculty and undergraduate student vacancies were filled in the 2019 call for applicants, the vacancies this year are in the following categories: staff, faculty, academic appointees, postdoctoral scholars, undergraduate and graduate students. The CSW charge is to advise the Chancellor through the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (VC-EDI) on issues relating to the status of women and gender equity at UC San Diego. The CSW makes recommendations to the Chancellor and VC-EDI regarding policies and practices that will improve the campus climate and overall experience for women students, staff, and faculty at UC San Diego. Priorities for the committee are re-examined and established on an annual basis. Selection criteria include: commitment to serve on the Committee on the Status of Women for a one- to three-year term; commitment to attend monthly, 90-minute CSW meetings; commitment to join a CSW subcommittee that matches your skills, expertise, and/or interests (equating to at least 5 hours of service per month); and demonstrated interest in issues relating to gender equity and the status of women students, staff, and faculty at UC San Diego. Our goal is to have an interdisciplinary, cross-campus, diverse representation in this committee. The CSW meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 12:30-2:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
