The campus notice system has been updated to streamline email delivery and offer more flexibility in messaging. The look of campus notices will change and will now feature formatted text and graphics to increase readability for faster digestion of important information from UC San Diego. The new message format will begin on Monday, July 20. Campus notices communicate to students, faculty and staff throughout campus and UC San Diego Health. Messages include campus closures and facilities updates, safety and security matters, construction and traffic alerts, employment-related information, policies and regulations, special campus events, faculty and program appointments, business updates and other administrative changes and announcements. Although some messages are also shared via social media or departmental e-newsletters, these emails are the first—and in some cases, the only—distribution of official information. To ensure you get timely information, we encourage you to add adminrec@ucsd.edu to your email contacts list. Doing this ensures prompt delivery of important campus announcements regarding safety, campus operations, and changes to public health guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since many of our students and staff use Gmail, messages may end up in your “Promotions” tab. To have them delivered directly to your primary inbox, right click on the email message, select “Move to tab,” then “Primary.” After doing this, at the bottom of the screen, it will prompt you to “Do this for future messages.” Select “Yes” and Gmail will send future campus notices to your “Primary” tab.
