New Blink Experience Coming August 7
Blink, UC San Diego’s employee intranet, is getting an upgrade! Starting August 7, you’ll enjoy a new user experience designed to better integrate with your workday and provide quick, easy access to helpful, useful information. The refresh project is based on direct user feedback that includes improved search, updates to the visual layout and better access to Blink content across the site.
What’s Changing
One change already in effect (as of June 19) is an improved search function that searches all UC San Diego websites in addition to Blink.
Upcoming updates to Blink’s look and feel prioritize user experience and access to information:
· Page templates will be upgraded so that Blink will look and function like the newest versions of other UC San Diego websites with the same graphic-rich modules.
· The homepage will feature a simplified design with prominent links to search, news and resources to help do your job.
· A new top navigation bar will provide links to key content and departmental information.
· Better integration with the new Services & Support Portal will provide access to how-to information and the ability to submit cases to administrative support units.
Content Update Freeze Starting August 3
To prepare for migrating existing content into the new format, Blink updates will be paused starting Monday, August 3, on the following schedule:
· August 3-5: Blink editors unable to update pages, while Blink team can still make emergency updates, as well as homepage updates
· August 6-7: Blink completely frozen until new design debuts August 7
