Integrated Procure-to-Pay Solutions (IPPS) is pleased to announce the integration of Mail Services and Material Support Service (MSS) into one unit: Logistics. Later this year, parts of Mail Services will move from Campus Services Complex (CSC) to the main processing hub at the Trade Street warehouse where they will further integrate with Logistics teams: Receiving & Distribution, Outbound Shipping, Moving Services, Surplus Sales, STORE, and Self Store. The CSC location will continue to serve campus for package delivery and house the Mailing Center.
The formation of Logistics allows IPPS to serve the campus and UC San Diego Health in broader capacities as we are called upon more and more to fill critical roles across campus initiatives. IPPS Logistics has already begun identifying overlapping campus delivery locations to improve route efficiencies. They recently launched a comprehensive client-facing Logistics Portal (SSO/VPN) to improve package tracking and enhance customer notifications. Logistics’ robust centralized distribution model has fortified IPPS’s ability to maintain the health of the University’s supply chain during COVID19 by facilitating the distribution and collection of test kits and managing the PPE Store Program critical to UC San Diego’s Return to Learn and Return to Research initiatives.
