Return to Learn Faculty Town Hall, Friday, September 18

To provide regular updates and answer your questions, UC San Diego is hosting monthly town halls for faculty regarding the Return to Learn program and campus operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. We invite you to join us for the next Return to Learn Faculty Town Hall on Friday, September 18, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

In preparing for the Fall 2020 Quarter, we have worked with campus and county public health experts to create a plan for welcoming back a limited number of students, faculty and staff through an incremental repopulation of campus as described on the Fall 2020 Plan page of the Return to Learn website. The Faculty Town Hall will feature presentations by campus experts and a Q&A session moderated by Senior Associate Vice Chancellor Robert Continetti, with the following panelists available to answer questions from faculty:

JAMES ANTONY, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate Division
STEVEN CONSTABLE, Ph.D., Chair, Academic Senate, San Diego Division
CARLOS JENSEN, Ph.D., Associate Vice Chancellor, Educational Innovation
ALYSSON SATTERLUND, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
ANGELA SCIOSCIA, M.D., Interim Executive Director for Student Health and Wellness
JANA SEVERSON, Director of Housing Services, Housing, Dining and Hospitality
GARY MATTHEWS, Vice Chancellor of Resource Management and Planning
JOHN MOORE, Ph.D., Dean of Undergraduate Education
ROBERT SCHOOLEY, M.D., Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health

We invite you to submit a question as part of your registration or during the event itself. While we will not be able to address all questions during the event, we will answer as many as possible in the webinar and work to address the others through an FAQ on the Return to Learn website.

Register for the event here.

We stand with you during this time of great uncertainty, where the situation continues to evolve rapidly. The health and safety of our campus community will continue to be paramount in all university decisions. We hope these discussions will assuage some of your concerns, and we greatly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and resilience. If you have any questions regarding the Faculty Town Hall, please contact the Return to Learn program at rtl@ucsd.edu.
