UC Mandates COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters
As mentioned in yesterday’s announcement, current vaccines combined with a booster dose are expected to protect against severe illness, hospitalizations and deaths due to infection with the omicron variant. The University of California Office of the President has notified campus leaders that the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program now requires COVID-19 vaccination boosters for all faculty, staff, academic appointees and students accessing facilities at any UC campus.
We are grateful to the many of you who already got their booster. We require that all faculty, staff and students who are now eligible receive their booster no later than January 31, 2022. Those who are not eligible for a booster by January 17 will need to be boosted no later than two weeks after their booster eligibility.
Appointments for vaccine boosters are available for all eligible students and employees at the Price Center on campus and at drive-up locations at our La Jolla and Hillcrest Medical Centers. To review eligibility requirements and schedule COVID-19 vaccine or vaccine booster appointments, students and campus employees should refer to the Return to Learn Vaccination page.
