Over the past three years, Nancy Resnick has served as Chief Human Resources Officer and led the central campus Human Resources organization in its growth as a client-focused and collaborative strategic partner. During her time at UC San Diego Nancy has connected deeply with many across our campus as well as with UC San Diego Health and systemwide colleagues. Under her leadership Human Resources has grown in visibility and recognition and has achieved significant successes, including a renewed focus on strategic talent acquisition, improvements in the employee performance process, and the implementation of a promotion program for campus staff.
As a member of the Chancellor’s cabinet, Nancy has been a critical part of UC San Diego’s tremendously successful and innovative Return to Learn program and was instrumental in the implementation of additional COVID 19 leave protections for our campus staff. Nancy led new outreach and communication strategies to engage and support employees during the pandemic. Her close partnerships with the staff association and employee affinity groups have elevated the staff experience and created greater connection and transparency across the institution. Nancy has been a champion of equity, diversity and inclusion, and a tireless advocate for all staff.
Nancy will continue in her current role through August 1 and then transition to serve as Special Advisor to the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer through the remainder of 2021.
I will miss Nancy personally as a colleague and key member of my senior leadership team. Please join me in thanking Nancy for her service to UC San Diego, and in wishing her the very best in retirement.
