Student Vaccination Appointments Open This Thursday

On Thursday, April 15, San Diego County will open up COVID-19 vaccination appointments for anyone 16 years of age and older. Students will be eligible for vaccination at any county vaccination site, including UC San Diego Health’s Vaccination Station at RIMAC.
We encourage you to get vaccinated as quickly as possible in order to protect the health and well-being of our campus community and our regional population.

Scheduling Your Vaccination Appointment

To schedule your appointment, click “Register and check my eligibility” on California’s My Turn website. Complete the “Confirm eligibility” screen and then enter the La Jolla campus zip code 92093 when prompted. Scroll to “Other locations” to find the RIMAC vaccination site. Follow the prompts to schedule your appointment at RIMAC. Students may also schedule their appointment for RIMAC directly.
Parental consent is required for students who are under the age of 18. Students younger than 18 may schedule their vaccinaton appointment, with the knowledge that a parent or legal guardian will need to be accessible by phone at the time of the appointment to provide consent.

After You Are Vaccinated

The health of our campus and our greater San Diego community depends upon vaccination and continued vigilance to stop the spread of COVID-19. With increasing vaccination rates and lower viral activity, we will be able to safely expand social guidelines for vaccinated students and testing frequency will also be modified.
Vaccinated individuals must continue the practices that we know help keep our campus community safe. Wear masks, wash hands often and avoid unmasked gatherings. Complete your daily screenings, and for those of you living on or coming to campus, please continue to test weekly. The full benefit of vaccination is not achieved until individuals are “fully vaccinated,” which is two weeks after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two weeks after receiving a single dose of the Janssen vaccine.
UC San Diego requires masks to be worn at all times in common areas on campus for both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. Review the campus face covering policy online for more details. A variety of inexpensive masks are available for purchase in the UC San Diego Bookstore and at Sunshine Market.
Thank you for your continued commitment to each other.
