For Employee Comment - PPSM 2.210 (Absence From Work) Pay for Family Care and Bonding

Last summer, the University of California announced a new benefit that offers eligible employees a partial income replacement option for up to eight workweeks per calendar year when employees need to take leave to care for family members.
As part of the implementation for the new Pay for Family Care and Bonding option on July 1, 2021, the University is proposing revisions to PPSM-2.210 (Absence from Work), which applies to staff employees in the Professional & Support Staff, Managers & Senior Professionals, and Senior Management Group personnel groups.
The proposed revisions to PPSM-2.210 include language that describes the new Pay for Family Care and Bonding option, eligibility, and pay and benefit considerations. Please note that only the sections of the Absence from Work policy that were updated as part of this review are included in the revisions for comment.
Employees covered by this policy are invited to review the policy and submit comments on the revisions. The proposed policy revisions are available for review as a clean or redline version. Comments should be submitted to employeerelations@ucsd.edu by 4:30 p.m. on April 24, 2021.
If you have questions about the new Pay for Family Care and Bonding option, please contact paidfamilymedicalleave@ucop.edu.
