Experian Alert Notices Connected to the Accellion Data Breach

Members of our campus community have received alerts from Experian that some of their personal information (Social Security number, birthdates, etc.) has been found on the dark Web. The Office of the President has added an FAQ to help people understand what additional measures they can take to protect themselves.

The Office of the President also added two recorded webinars about ways our campus community can protect themselves, in both English and Spanish.

As a reminder, the data security incident affecting the University of California community was the result of a nationwide cyber attack. This is a very serious incident, and we encourage you to be proactive in protecting yourself using the resources and information that have been made available by the Office of the President.

The University of California community will continue to be updated as more information is learned and able to be shared. In the meantime, if you have questions related to this incident, please contact communications@ucop.edu.
