UC San Diego 15th Anniversary Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Celebration
This year marks the 15th anniversary of UC San Diego’s Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Celebration. The month-long commemoration honors the Asian and Pacific Islander American identity through performances, films and webinars. This year’s theme, “Empowering Community Through Reflection and Recognition,” is a call to gather as a community in solidarity and raise awareness of the achievements and contributions of the Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in our country.
In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved so that employees may participate in the 15th Anniversary Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Celebration activities. Supervisors are asked to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
We thank the members of the planning committee for their work in coordinating these educational and celebratory campus activities. Please join us and our campus community in honoring the legacy and contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.
