Dear Colleagues,
We received an important message from our Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer on Monday night following up on the recent message from President Drake regarding a significant security incident involving UC employee information. While the incident is currently under investigation, it’s very important that you take steps now to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud. I encourage you to attend an interactive workshop which will be held tomorrow, Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m.
We encourage supervisors to extend maximum flexibility to afford employees an opportunity to attend this very important workshop.
Please note that the workshop is limited to discussing personal cybersecurity measures, including the crediting monitoring and identity theft services provided by the Office of the President.
Health and Safety Updates
As UC San Diego employees, we’ve had incredible access to health-related resources throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including no-cost testing and vaccination. I’ve also greatly appreciated the access we continue to have to renowned health experts from UC San Diego Health, like infectious disease specialist Dr. Robert “Chip” Schooley. Chip has participated in many of our Staff Town Halls, answering your questions about the virus, the vaccine and more. Read a vaccine Q&A with Dr. Schooley »
Many in our staff community have already taken advantage of the opportunity to obtain the vaccine through UC San Diego Health. As a reminder, you can get vaccinated on work time and there are paid leave provisions available if you need time to recuperate after your vaccine. Read on to learn how to schedule your vaccine appointment, along with other important information and updates for staff.
Schedule Your COVID-19 Vaccination Appointments: Employees who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to do so while vaccine supply is plentiful. Re-Imagining the Workplace: Share Your Voice
As UC San Diego continues making plans for a safe and gradual return to full campus operations, there are opportunities coming up to contribute your voice to the conversation. Next week, you’ll receive an invitation to participate in a survey focusing on the staff experience over the past year and what the future of our workplace might look like.
You can also share your thoughts and ideas about embracing a new vision for our workplace via our IdeaWave campaign. IdeaWave is a great platform to share your ideas for innovative programs and see what ideas are resonating with your staff colleagues. There is a lot of activity in the campaign, with ideas relating to connection and collaboration, environmental sustainability, transportation and parking, and other important subjects.
On the Horizon: Dates and Deadlines
