CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Scholars Drive South Realignment at Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood
Project Purpose Construction of the Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood will continue through Fall 2023. This multi-use project will provide approximately 2,000 new beds for undergraduate students, residential life and administrative offices, general assignment classrooms, a meeting center, restaurants and retail for an approximate total of 900,000 gross square feet (GSF). The proposed project will also include improvements to Ridge Walk (Galbraith to Revelle College Dr.) and parking for approximately 1,200 cars (325 net new spaces).
Location, Duration and Impacts
Starting on Tuesday June 1, 2021, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will shift over from the current Scholars Drive South to a newly realigned portion of Scholars Drive South at the Theatre District. This will result in brief traffic impacts on Scholars Drive South adjacent to Keeling Apartments and at the new intersection with Revelle College Drive.
Following the realignment of vehicular and pedestrian traffic, there will be periodic construction impacts along this portion of Scholars Drive South through Fall 2023.
Please observe all temporary traffic controls and crewmember instructions. Please reduce speeds and allow extra space when traveling adjacent to construction activity. See a map of the affected area.
