Spring 2021 Academic Senate Election Results

The results of the spring 2021 election are as follows.

Vice Chair (Chair Designate) of the Division for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023. The first year will serve as Vice Chair and the second year as Chair of the San Diego Division.

Divisional Representatives (three vacancies) to the systemwide Assembly of the Academic Senate for a two-year term, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2023.

Member of the Committee on Committees from a Health Sciences department, excluding the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Surgery, for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.

Nicholas Webster, Professor-IR, Medicine
Member of the Committee on Committees from an Arts department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.

Naomi Iizuka, Professor, Theatre and Dance
Member of the Committee on Committees from a Humanities department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.

Oumelbanine (Nina) Zhiri, Professor, Literature
Member of the Committee on Committees from a Science department for a three-year term, effective September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2024.

Rommie Amaro, Professor, Chemistry & Biochemistry

The number of valid ballots cast in this election was 604, which represents a 23.3% turnout of the current Senate membership.
