UC San Diego is proposing a Flexible Work Arrangements Policy which will be applicable to all UC San Diego staff employees. This Policy is in support of our shared principles of innovation, equity and flexibility.
As each area is making decisions about the Return to Campus for those that have been offsite and assessing positions that have been onsite, supervisors and leaders are reviewing positions with a goal of maximum flexibility while ensuring we maintain a vibrant University experience for staff, students, academic appointees and visitors. Work arrangement decisions and any options provided to employees will be driven by operational needs and the recognition that operational needs differ across units. Equity at its core is about fairness, not the same option or work arrangement for each employee, including employees who may share the same job title.

Employees covered by this policy are invited to review the policy and submit comments on the policy. Comments should be submitted to hr@ucsd.edu by 4:30 p.m. on July 7, 2021.
