Yesterday, July 27, 2021, the UC San Diego Library completed the transition to the new UC Library Search, a platform that brings together the library collections of the 10 UC campuses.
UC Library Search replaces the UC San Diego Library catalog Roger, as well as the UC-systemwide search tool Melvyl, making it possible to easily discover and request any item owned by UC Libraries through a single interface. The new tool supports the university’s Single Sign-On (SSO) and streamlines the process for requesting materials from other libraries.
You will notice that the main search interface on the Library’s homepage has changed and is simplified with the launch of UC Library Search. As library users begin to engage with the new system, we will continue to gather feedback and other data with an eye toward continuously improving the user experience.
Your existing library account has automatically become active in UC Library Search with all of your current check-out information. You can now access your UC Library Search account using your SSO credentials.

This transition has involved the collaboration of hundreds of library employees at all 10 UC campuses and the California Digital Library. My thanks go to everyone who has worked to make this transition a success.
