Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Ms. Betty Huff will join my leadership team as the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVC-EM) on August 11. With more than 30 years of experience in enrollment management, including work in the UC and CSU systems in roles including Registrar, Director of Admissions and executive level roles, Betty will provide essential leadership for the Enrollment Management team as we continue our national search for our next Associate Vice Chancellor.
Since her retirement seven years ago from the University of Memphis where she served as the Vice Provost of Enrollment Services, Betty has served as a Senior Enrollment Management Consultant for universities across the United States including California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Delaware. Prior to her work at the University of Memphis, she spent 10 years working as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Affairs at UC Santa Barbara, and before that, nine years in the California State University system, as one of the founding administrators of California State University, San Marcos.
In addition to her significant hands-on experience, Betty also brings to our campus extensive work nationally and internationally on issues of access and equity in higher education, and she is a long-time member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. She also served as a member of more than one campus team responsible for selecting and implementing a new Student Information System (SIS) for large campuses that were part of state university systems.
We are extremely fortunate to have Betty’s leadership and expertise as our campus moves into the new academic year and the 2021-22 application cycle. Please join me in welcoming her to UC San Diego and sharing our vibrant, innovative campus with her.
