Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to encourage applications for the newly posted position of Interim Advisor to the Executive Vice Chancellor on Art Strategy & Engagement.
UC San Diego envisions serving as a destination and a live-learn-play community with wide-ranging opportunities for arts, culture, and entertainment available to members of the campus and the general public. Our university already provides access to arts, culture and entertainment in multiple formats and venues. The university’s highly ranked Arts departments, as well as our affiliations with artistic partners in the San Diego region, have established a strong tradition of aesthetic experimentation and public engagement that makes us a leader among peer institutions. Our strategies for the future are aimed at fully realizing UC San Diego’s ambition to be an inclusive and welcoming destination for accessible arts and culture, lifelong education, engaged research, and outstanding patient care.
The Interim Advisor to the EVC on Art Strategy & Engagement will bring a new level of purpose, focus, and drive toward efforts to build a campus art strategy. The incumbent will advise the EVC on non-curricular matters pertaining to the visual, creative, and performing arts at UC San Diego. Above all, the Interim Advisor will provide leadership in collaboratively developing an inclusive campus strategy for the Arts at UC San Diego which will include engaging internal and external stakeholders.
Candidates must already hold a faculty appointment at UC San Diego as a full professor or full teaching professor and have prior and demonstrable leadership experience.
