Library Services Available During Campus Winter Closure
Geisel Library will close on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m., and WongAvery Library will close on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 5:30 p.m. Both Library buildings will reopen Tuesday, January 3, 2023, with Geisel opening at 7:30 a.m. and WongAvery at 10 a.m. See Library hours webpage for current and future building hours, and visit the Reserve a Space page to make reservations for January 3 and beyond.
Online resources such as electronic journals, electronic books, and databases are always available by logging into the campus’s Virtual Private Network (VPN). More information about Library services available during the campus winter closure can be found on our website.
The Library is currently accepting course reserve requests for Winter Quarter 2023 at reserves.ucsd.edu. Requests submitted after Friday, Dec. 9 may not be available for student use until after winter quarter instruction has begun.
During the holiday closure, limited information and research assistance is available through the Library's 24/7 online chat service, with questions answered by librarians from non-UC libraries. Additionally, the following resources and tools can provide self-help assistance:
