Important Information: Flu Vaccine Mandate for Students
Dear Tritons,
UC San Diego is committed to your health and safety, as well as to the health and safety of our entire community. With this in mind, the most effective measure that you can take to prevent influenza (“flu”) infection – and slow its spread – is an annual flu vaccination.
SYSTEMWIDE FLU VACCINE MANDATE The University of California has issued a Policy on Vaccination Programsrequiring all students, faculty, other academic appointees and staff who are living, learning or working on premises at any University facility to (i) receive Vaccine Education concerning influenza and vaccination as a preventive measure; and (ii) receive or affirmatively decline influenza vaccination.
UC San Diego’s deadline for compliance with this policy is Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.
STUDENT FLU VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS Students should visit MyStudentChart to schedule a flu vaccination appointment on campus via UC San Diego Health. There is no cost for the flu vaccine for students regardless of insurance coverage.
To indicate that you have received an influenza vaccine outside of UC San Diego (via a primary care physician or retail pharmacy, for example), please navigate to “preventative care” from the menu or main page on MyStudentChart in order to document your immunization.
To submit your declination of the influenza vaccine for 2022-23, please complete this student Vaccination Declination form no later than Nov. 18, 2022.
Thank you, as always, for helping to keep our campus community safe.
Be well,
Alysson M. Satterlund Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
